Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator (Excavators 340, 360, 325) – Contract Position

End Date: Late September to Early October

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and safety-focused Heavy Equipment Operator to support a seasonal project in Rico, Colorado. This contract role involves operating Excavators 340, 360, and 325 to perform backfilling on slopes and other earth-moving tasks in mountainous terrain. The ideal candidate is dependable, skilled in precision work, and comfortable working in rugged outdoor conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate Excavators 340, 360, and 325 for backfilling slopes, grading, and general excavation
• Perform pre-operation inspections and routine maintenance on equipment
• Safely maneuver equipment on steep or uneven terrain
• Follow site plans, grade specifications, and supervisor instructions
• Work closely with laborers and other operators to ensure smooth operations
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and project protocols
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment

Requirements:

• Prior experience operating large excavators, especially 340, 360, and 325 models
• Demonstrated ability to safely backfill and shape sloped terrain
• Strong understanding of excavation, grading, and fill procedures
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team setting
• Must be physically able to work outdoors in high-altitude conditions
• Valid driver's license; CDL and equipment certifications a plus
• Reliable transportation to and from the job site in Rico, Colorado

Schedule:

• Full-time, Monday through Saturday

Compensation:

• $35.00 an hour
• Per diem available for food and housing
